Fri. after morning showers, we spend most of the day lounging around the pool and lazy river. Later we will go to steak night at he American Legion for dinner and entertainment. They have music and dancing after dinner. The music was a wide variety, catering to a more senior crowd and pretty good. Good to see the folks doing the jitterbug and other older style dancing. Fun evening and good steak dinner with plenty of left overs.

Sat. early we went to Mo's BBQ for a smoked cheeseburger for lunch - Really good flavor! Then we walked off the meal meandering the farmers market that is held next door to Mo's. Back at the condo we relaxed until dinner when we decided we needed to put a dent into the left overs we have brought back from the many restaurants. Dinner is served with scrambled eggs, steak and home fried potatoes. A quiet evening on the balcony finished yet another terrific day.

Sun some of us started with biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Early afternoon Brandon came by and took us on a boat ride.





Those pictured without permission are Brandon, My brother Bob and his wife Rosalyn, My sister Barbara(Bunny) and her husband of 45 years Michael. Later that evening we went to dinner The Playa restaurant.
Once again a fine meal was had by all and the day ended for some with a cigar and a scotch down by the water at sunset.


Another wonderful day comes to a close.  All too rapidly this family reunion is passing and tomorrow is checkout day.

 Tue morning May 2. The last few days have been generally nice weather-wise and it has been fun to be with my brother. Saturday we went to a German Festival fund raiser. They had a good turn out in spite of the weather, which brought in a thunder storm. We got in line for the sausages and had about a 20 minute wait to get to the window. They were worth the wait. We went to the bake sale next, should have been first. The storm drove everyone inside and they all but bought out the bake sale. We did manage 4 cookies and some peanut clusters. A quiet afternoon followed - while the rain stopped, it was overcast and we were more comfortable inside watching the Mexican Open. Sunday we went for a buffet meal at Saraceno's. This is a tiny place with excellent food and numerus choices. The desserts were wonderful as well.  Thursday May 8, Monday the weatherman was less than friendly and decided to drizzle on us most of the day. The walkers got in their walk and we spent the day in the condo or on the balcony. Our nephew Brandon and his wife Joi came over and spent the afternoon with us. This is Joi and my sister Bunny. Brandon cooked for us and made Cajun shrimp etouffee, which was wonderful. Tue. was checkout day, so we all packed up and then met at Duck's Diner for a final breakfast before Bunny and Michael headed for Fl and we returned to Bob and Roz's house.  April 26. Having concluded the blog entry on Monday after our visit to Sedona we decided we needed to check the weather for the next part of the trip. Good thing, the original itinerary had us going I-40 to Tucumcari, but the weatherman had severe thunderstorms and possible hail predicted for that route. We changed to Las Cruces, NM and and had a beautiful sunny day off the interstate on two lane road from Holbrook to Deming. Very enjoyable ride and a pleasant night in Hacienda RV Resort. Excellent facilities with private showers and other amenities. Deb was slightly less pleased because of the proximity to I-10, which I found as white noise that helped me sleep. On the road at 7:30 we planned for Kerrville, Tx again due to weather considerations. We are behind a storm and want to stay behind it rather than drive into it but we expect scattered thunderstorms tonight, clearing we hope by morning.
